All NYC parking tickets that were given out from August 8th-August 10th during the recent bad storm (classified as a tornado) for alternate-side parking violations in the 66th, 68th, 70th and 72nd precincts do not have to be paid. The City has stated that there is no need to contest them because they will be automatically dismissed. If you've already paid your NYC parking ticket, you are slated to automatically get a refund.
This is all well and good, but I would keep the parking ticket in a safe place so that if the City makes any error regarding your case, you are prepared with the evidence showing the date that you were issued the ticket.
At least we didn't all have to complain till we're blue in the face to get these NYC parking tickets dismissed, like we did during the ice storm last winter.
